2nd Blogiversary

Today is apparently this blog's 2nd birthday. I'm too out of it right now to do anything special, mostly because I finally submitted the paper I've been working on for the last few months to ApJ (i.e., a journal) and the arXiv (it'll be up Thursday night and I'll probably write something real about it this weekend), and I've still go this "thesis proposal" thing to prepare for Friday. So, in the meantime, here is a word count breakdown of the paper. Your job is to guess the subject matter.

  1. Is it about Active Galaxies ejecting Quasars that later evolve into Galaxies in their own right?

  2. That's easy. Look at it bottom up. "17", "We", "Metal", "Massive". Molly has written a paper on Random Hall's secret project to build a giant metal spaceship to carry the entire dorm into outer space. Where are they going? Another "Galaxy", someplace habitable with "Oxygen". This rock has clearly gotten boring.

Nice to see some nice practical cosmology research. Can I visit your new digs?

  3. If it's secret, why would I write a paper on it? And everyone knows the shafts house ICBMs, not a silly spaceship!

But, sure, if you can build your own (secret) spaceship, come visit me! Or, you know, just hop on Jet Blue over to Columbus ...

  4. This obviously has something to do with your living in Random for 4 years. But will this get you a PhD?

  5. This obviously is related to your living in Random for 4 years. BUT, will that get you a PhD?

  6. This paper by itself will not get me a PhD, but it'll help.

  7. Your paper is obviously about the word "the." Everyone should notice that!
